CID 2 Announced: Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava And Daya Shetty To Return After 6 Years 

One of the longest-running suspense television programs “CID” will return to television with its original cast. Makers decide to bring the show back on television. The first glimpse was released on Friday, November 22. Check it out!  

Great news for CID fans. The iconic crime fiction television show is back after six years. A Clip was recently shared by Sony TV featuring its star cast, Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Daya Shetty, announcing the exciting news. Fans are excited about the crime fiction, eagerly waiting for the first episode and commenting like, “CID is back. Bachpan is Back.” Another fan wrote, “CID is back. I literally can’t believe this is happening.” 

CID 2 Teaser Release

The teaser was released on November 22 by Sony TV on its social media, captioning “Mark your Calendars – 26th October ko hoga ek dhamakedar promo drop.” The teaser starts with blood dripping off Daya Shetty’s head and ACP Pradyuman stepping out of a police car in the pouring rain, holding an umbrella. The Camera then follows Abhijeet’s (Aditya Srivastava) focused eyes as ACP Pradyuman rushes towards a bomb site. The show’s devoted viewers experience nostalgia while the theme’s recognizable whistle plays in the background, heightening the suspense. 

CID 2 Promo Release 

Sony TV released a trailer on its Instagram handle on 26 October. The video opened with Daya (Dayanand Shetty) and Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava) standing in the rain, facing one another. A voiceover in the background said,  “Jo desh ke liye hamesha saath mein lade hai, aaj dushman ban kyun aamne saamne khade hai (Why have those who fought together for the country become sworn enemies now)?” 

The promo then follows with Daya telling Abhijeet to shoot him, and he does so twice. ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) is heard yelling, “Ruk jao (wait).” The video concluded with Daya falling off a clip, and Abhijeet leaving.

The trailer was released with the caption,  “Kyu barso puraani dosti bhool kar, Abhijeet ne chalayi Daya par goli (Why did Abhijeet forget years old friendship and shoot Daya)?”

Shivaji Satam, said in an interview, “In this edition of the show, the Daya-Abhijeet bond, once unbreakable, has snapped and the two are standing opposite each other. The very foundation of CID is shaken, and ACP Pradyuman’s world will be turned upside down.”

He further said, “It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years, a character that has received so much love and we promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense and heart-stopping drama!” 

The trailer has also shocked the internet and fans are guessing and interpreting the storyline in different ways. While some think that the trailer is a diversion from the real storyline and will unfold some big plan of CID masterminds, others think that the plot will lead to some previous storyline. 

When CID 2 will start & Where Can You Stream The New Season? 

Director B.P. Singh’s spy show CID is more than a TV show, it’s nothing short of an emotion for most millennials. The show ruled the Indian household for 20 years, with its last episode aired in 2018. Since then, the show has been in high demand and now finally the makers have given up and brought the cult show back. 

The Official release date of the show is yet to be announced by the makers. The trailer was released recently, hinting at the streaming of the show by November. As per reports, the show will be premiered on Sony TV channel. While Shivaji, Aditya, and Daya are confirmed to return to the show, details about other characters are still to be uncovered.

CID is an Indian police procedural television show that aired from January 1998 to October 2018 on Sony Entertainment Television. The story of the show revolves around CID officers dealing with and solving suspenseful cases and bringing culprits to light. It has featured various actors including late actor Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks and Narendra Gupta as Dr Salunkhe.  CID is one of the longest-running television series in India to date. The reason behind shutting down the series is not well-known, with reports suggesting the rift between the show’s producer and the channel.
