Kohrra Season 2 Review – Mona Singh Stuns, Barun Sobti Excels in Netflix Thriller

Netflix’s beloved Punjabi crime drama makes good on the fog returning, and, in the second season of Kohrra, it only gets somehow thicker and darker. Expectations were high after a strong first season – and this new chapter doesn’t just meet these legs up by raising the emotional and social complexity even higher.

After this, Kohrra season 2 is once again set in the interiors of Punjab, where a gruesome murder shakes a small town on a foggy winter morning. Below that is a multi-faceted exploration into trauma, patriarchy, bonded labour, and unhealed pain, not just a whodunnit.

Starring Mona Singh and Barun Sobti, the season manages to strike a perfect balance between nail-biting procedural storytelling and a human-centric approach to our crime-solving dramas.

Writing and Direction

Kohrra season 2 preserves the bracing maturity of its writing. The creators don’t martyr the cops. Rather, they show them to be delicate human beings with a turbulent personal life.

In its six-episode breadth, the story stays lean, even if there is a slight lag to the middle installments. This “inside-out” narrative structure ensures character development always drives the plot, which is a hallmark of the series.

Is Kohrra Season 2 Better Than Season One?

If season one was primarily about the matter of drugs, Kohrra season 2 widens its scope to bonded labour and emotional trauma. It has a sense of maturity and emotional depth.

Dhanwant and Garundi go their separate ways; the ending leaves room for hope for both, suggesting how things will pan out from here.
